Norths Pirates Minis 2024
In 2024 Norths Pirates will be playing Under 6, Under 7 and Under 8 games on a Saturday morning!
These games will be played predominately on the North Shore against other clubs within the area, this extends to Eastwood and Ryde to ensure all local children have the opportunity to play Rugby against varied and fun opposition.
There will be an occasional game further afield to give kids an experience to travel and play teams they would not ordinarily play. This is likely to be only twice in the season.
Games are typically played early mornings before 10am.
Under 6 and 7s will play a modified non contact version of Rugby called Tri Tag Rugby. The video below will explain how this works.
n the under 8 children will transition to tackle rugby. We start to teach the basics of how to tackle safely towards the end of the under 7s.
The under 8’s still played a modified version of Rugby, details of the format are available under PLAY
In the Under 9 age group we can provide an opportunity to play either Saturday or Sunday!
The format will be much the same as the younger age groups, however we are committed to providing the opportunity to play rugby to as many children as we can. Junior Rugby for the Under 10s and up is typically players on a Sunday and this is a good chance for your boys or girls to give Rugby a go before they progress to a full size field.
Games in the Under 9’s are not competitive with no tables or points, however throughout the year there are competitions to give the children a chance to play competitive sport, some are played over a weekend or an evening. More details will be provided through the season.
